1. Golden X The Great Escape

The Projector is great for people who are looking for indie films that are not shown in your usual movie theatres. The next time you are there for a movie, do remember to check out the hidden gem of a bar behind The Projector. Head towards the bathroom, take the side door, then cut across the parking till you see the bar. It’s a great place to chill with some friends over beer and food.

2. Southbridge

Beer and Oysters - can’t really go wrong with this combo. Overlooking the Singapore river, Southbridge offers some great-tasting creations like Oysters served in a fusion sauce of ponzu and yuzu, smoked pancetta sandwich and lobster knuckle roll. This place offers a great respite from the hustle and bustle of the Boat Quay area, with its amazing 360 degree view of its surroundings.

3. Lepark

Not the easiest cafe to locate (the lifts don’t lead you straight to Lepark), but that is probably what makes Lepark that much more special.  Find it and you will be rewarded with a clear view of the impressive CBD skyline. Lepark is a modern tapas place with a local twist with great live music on certain nights. The tapas bites include Thai Basil Pork with Stuffed Tau Pok (S$ 8) and Poached Chicken Sushi (S$8), just to name a few. End of your meal with the Milo Dino Soft Serve, which comes with Fruit Loops and a Khong Guan Biscuit - flavours that are reminiscent of your childhood.

4. The Rooftop At Potato Head Folk

If you frequent Bali or Hong Kong, you may have heard of Potato Head Folk. This restaurant prides itself on serving unpretentious food, fun cocktails and a good time. Have a burger in at the indoor restaurant at levels one and two, then head out for some drinks at the rooftop.

The interior here is as pretty as the rooftop view! Set in an iconic building that was built in 1939, the interior of Potato Head Folk is filled with whimsical murals and decorations.

6. Spuds And Aprons

Offering international and modern asian cuisine, Spuds And Aprons is a family-oriented restaurant that has something to suit every taste bud. Its signature dishes really life up to their labels of being “wickedly good” and “Die Die must try”. While you are there, try their Truffle Wicked Fries & Gravy, which has six different types of melted cheese oozing over the crispy truffle fries. If you are craving for some sweets, the Jar of Happiness should be your choice of dessert, which consists creamy Haagen Dazs vanilla ice cream topped with warm berry compote, and crumbly shortbread biscuits.

Perched on the 43rd story of the Ocean Financial Centre, this Italian restaurant and bar boasts fantastic views of the Marina Bay Waterfront. The food here is mainly Italian, with a few tweaks to suit the palate of the Singaporean diner.

We heard the desserts here are to die for as well!
