Everest Transverse trek combines the Base Camp and Gokyo Lake treks with two additional trails to the east and west of the central region. The eastern arm adds a trek up to Chhukung for two acclimatization nights (add a walk to Chhukung Ri or to the Island Peak Base Camp for views over and beyond the Lhotse and Ama Dablam glaciers. Then conquer the Kongma La (5 535m), en-route to Lobuche and Everest Base Camp.

Mount Everest three passes trek has a vast network of ancient trails links villages and farming communities, who have little contact with larger centre to the south. For centuries these trails have been trodden by the locals, porters, mule and yak caravans. To walk these trails is to experience the true essence of Nepal.

In the Khumbu region, the trails will offer you some of the Himalaya’s most dramatic landscapes  including views of four of Nepal’s eight 8 000m peaks. In recent times local communities have embraced the needs of trekkers so that you can now follow upgraded trails, from tea house to tea house, under deep blue skies below these peaks and their vassal neighbors.

Three pass trek in Everest the western arm, after a rest day at Gokyo, adds the staggering ascent to the Renjo La, some four hours above the lake to staggering views of the valley and glacier below and numerous high ridges crowned by the Everest Group. The descent to Marulung faces new dramatic landscapes. Below the village, the trail joins an old Tibetan salt route and continues to Thame and then back to Namche Bazaar.

This epic journey will take you over three of the world’s highest passes and while they are not difficult routes, their altitudes, each over 5 300m, plus the possibility of poor weather conditions, requires thorough acclimatization and slow, steady ascents that make for three long and demanding trekking days. A dream project for serious adventure travellers to tackle at least once in a lifetime! Spring and Autumn are the best season to trek, though Mountain Mart Trek-adventure team make it happen four season comfortably.
