How to crochet the chevron stitch

A few days ago I got a message on my Facebook Page to please do a chevron stitch tutorial. Well, when someone asks nicely and you’re looking for ideas for tutorials, things just fall into place. It also helped that I had a few quiet hours at home (which doesn’t happen often). So this video is for Connie and anyone else who needed to see the stitch to understand how it worked. It can be tricky, but I hope I made it easy to follow.

The written instructions and the “How to crochet the chevron stitch” tutorial are below.

The Instructions

The Chevron stitch is worked in multiples of 8+1 adding 3 for the foundation chain

The Chevron can be worked in multiple colors changing each color at the end of each row

Row 1: 1 dc in 4th ch from hook, *1 dc in next 2 ch, dc2tog over next three ch (skipping middle ch), dc in next 2 ch, [dc, ch 1, dc} in next ch, rep from *, ending 2 dc in last ch, turn

Row 2: ch 3, dc in first dc, *1 dc in next 2 dc, dc2tog over next three sts (skipping middle st), dc in next 2 dc, [dc, ch 1, dc] in ch-1 sp, rep from *, ending 2 dc in 3rd ch of starting ch-3, turn
