The Yankees have signed outfielder Chris Denorfia to a minor league deal. He will be in camp tomorrow.

Brian Cashman said the Yankees wanted more experienced, right-handed outfield depth. Denorfia can opt out of his contract at the end of spring training if the Yankees decide they don’t have a spot for him in New York.

“He’s here to try to be in the big leagues,” Cashman said.

If Denorfia doesn’t make the big league team, each side will basically have to decide whether there is interest in staying together with a Triple-A assignment.
