Justin Upton hit a two-run home run and Ian Kennedy picked up his seventh victory despite six walks Monday as the Padres ended their six-game losing skid with a 2-1 victory over the Reds at Petco Park.

The two-run shot was his 20th home run of the season, including his 15th at Petco Park. That tied the venue’s single-season record, previously held by only outfielder Will Venable.

San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer unveiled a proposal to build an NFL stadium and entertainment complex on the site that Qualcomm Stadium now sits on. In addition to releasing the completed draft EIR for the site, the City also released new renderings done on a new design for an entertainment complex that includes a stadium to house an NFL team, the SDSU Aztecs football team, the Holiday Bowl, and the Poinsettia Bowl.
