AND NOW A WORD FROM OUR SPONSORS –  Champion sailor and one design expert Skip Dieball has joined North Sails and will continue to work closely with sailors in the Lake Erie and Lake Ontario area as well as with many one design classes he has become synonymous with worldwide. Dieball is returning to the world’s leading sailmaker after an eleven-year hiatus during which he started Dieball Sailing, a full-service sailmaking business based in Toledo, OH.

“We are thrilled to having Skip back in the mix at North Sails,” said Ken Read, President of North Sails Group. “Lake Erie and Lake Ontario sailors deserve a dedicated person like Skip to listen to their sail needs and advise on how they can improve their on-the-water experience and performance,” Read said. “Combine this with his success in one design racing and you have a North Sails representative that can reach sailors at all levels and in literally a dozen different classes. Skip has been in the sailmaking industry for 25+ years and brings a wealth of local knowledge to the table and we look forward to working with his existing customers,” Read concluded.

In his career, Dieball has earned 35 major one design titles and has been nominated for the prestigious Rolex Yachtsman of the Year in 2004 and US SAILING’s Sportsman of the Year in 2010. His extensive one design experience keeps him on the cutting edge of sailboat racing with special focus on the Interlake,Thistle, Lighting and Etchells classes to name a few. “The One Design team is absolutely thrilled to have Skip representing North Sails in Ohio,” said Tim Healy, president of the One Design division of North Sails. “Skip is well-liked by local sailors and has great instincts and ideas for marketing and market growth,” said Healy. “We feel very fortunate to have him on the North team.”

“Returning to North Sails is a great opportunity for myself and my clients,” said Skip. “North Sails is the leader in sailmaking technology and the company continues to invest R&D into one design sail materials and shapes which is very important in the Midwest where one design sailing is huge. I am proud to be able to offer North Sails products to all my clients – both racers and cruisers alike – who will all benefit by having the best sails on the market,” continued Dieball. ”I look forward to what the future holds and am proud to be back on the North team,” he concluded.
