Seattle Genetics Co-Founder Appointed to Board of Directors for Mirna Therapeutics Inc.

Clay Siegall, Ph.D. is the Co-Founder of Seattle Genetics. Dr. Siegall has led the company into successful new therapies that use genetically significant antibodies to help cancer patients survive secondary effects from other treatments. Dr. Siegall is a long-time medical researcher who owns 15 patents for biotechnology inventions. He has been published more than 70 times. He obtained his BS in Zoology from the University of Maryland. His Ph.D in Genetics was earned at George Washington University. Before starting Seattle Genetics, his first professional positions were at the National Cancer Institute, Bristol-Muyers, the National Institutes of Health, and the Squibb Pharmaceutical Research Institute.

As a top biotechnology company, Seattle Genetics creates new products to support pre-clinical and clinical trials research. Started in 1998, the company has invented Antibody-Drug Conjugate (ADC) cancer treatments. ADC helps chemotherapy patients fight tumors. The particular cancers targeted include non-Hodgkin lymphoma, acute Myeloid Leukemia, and Lymphoma. The science behind ADC is fairly mind boggling. But, rest assured that the research and science applied is rigorously tested and follows all approved practices for drug research and development. Dr. Siegall gets quite animated when he describes the results the researchers at Seattle Genetics are starting to achieve on a recurring basis. It does look very likely that cancer is on the way to being completely cured, thanks to biotechnology companies, and in particular, thanks to Seattle Genetics.
