With U. cheap jerseys .S. Thanksgiving coming on Thursday, here are a handful of reasons -- beyond Thursday afternoon football -- to be thankful: Lions RB Kevin Smith - It looked like his career was pretty much done after ripping up his knee, but then he emerged from the scrap heap to go for more than 200 yards from scrimmage against Carolina last week. Thats a feel-good story for the holidays. Saints TE Jimmy Graham - Some of my sleepers -- Atlanta WR Julio Jones, Redskins RB Tim Hightower (before he got hurt) -- from the Fantasy Football Preview have fared okay, but none quite panned out the way that Graham did. A third-round pick in 2010, Graham had 31 catches for 351 yards and five touchdowns as a rookie last year, but has become the leading receiving among all tight ends with 873 yards already this season. Hes been almost as good as Rob Gronkowski! Be thankful if you used your first round pick on Packers QB Aaron Rodgers, for obvious reasons, instead of Titans RB Chris Johnson, again, for obvious reasons. Be thankful for the uncertainty of fantasy football. Among the top ten running backs in my fantasy football rankings, five are currently injured, which means there is plenty of value to be found on the waiver wire. Speaking of the waiver wire, be thankful if you jumped soon enough to grab receivers Victor Cruz, Jordy Nelson, Antonio Brown, Eric Decker or Torrey Smith, just a handful of the receivers that werent likely to be drafted, but have proven to be very productive this season. For 49ers fans, be thankful for a surprising run to 9-1 and dont hate the guy whos been slow to lift them in the rankings! Packers fans, be thankful for weekly excellence and remember, going back-to-back is more important than going undefeated. Colts fans, be thankful that this is a year that it should pay off to finish last. There are worse consolation prizes than getting Andrew Luck. INJURIES- Bears QB Jay Cutler may be done for the season with a broken thumb, leaving Caleb Hanie to take over for a team that has won five in a row. Its not as though the Bears have high quality receiving options anyway, but Hanies limited track record limits the appeal of wideouts Earl Bennett, Devin Hester and Johnny Knox. - It appears that once again Michael Vick is likely to miss this weeks Eagles game (vs. New England) with broken ribs, giving Vince Young another start. Young passed for 258 yards and a couple of touchdowns last week against the Giants, though he also threw three interceptions. Youngs chances this week could be enhanced by the return of WR Jeremy Maclin, who missed last weeks game with a shoulder injury, but appears more likely to go this week. - With Bills RB Fred Jackson out with a season-ending broken fibula, look to C.J. Spiller and Johnny White getting opportunities in the Buffalo backfield. Going against the Jets is hardly an ideal matchup, but they will get opportunities. - Packers RB James Starks is dealing with knee and ankle injuries, leaving him questionable for Thursday at Detroit. If Starks is out, that means more touches for Ryan Grant, but the Packers havent been running for huge yardage anyway. Theyre undefeated and have yet to have a 100-yard rusher all season. - Vikings RB Adrian Peterson reportedly suffered a high ankle sprain which will keep him out for at least a week (probably more if its a high ankle sprain), which means Toby Gerhart should get the bulk of the carries at Atlanta, against the Falcons second-ranked run defence, this week. Gerhart had a season-high seven carries against the Raiders last week, but in Week 12 last season, he had 22 carries for 76 yards and a touchdown against Washington. MATCHUPS- Baltimore RB Ray Rice is too good to sit, obviously, but hell have a tough matchup against a 49ers defence that allows 73.9 yards on the ground. - Cleveland RB Chris Ogbonnaya is coming off a career-high 115-yard rushing game last week and the Browns could have Montario Hardesty back from a calf injury as well, but both Browns runners will have their hands full against Cincinnatis third-ranked run defence. - Arizona RB Beanie Wells has been struggling, averaging 38.3 yards per game over the last three weeks, but might fare better this week aganist St. Louis than he did in Week Nine, when he had 20 yards on 10 carries in his first game back from a knee injury. - Carolinas rushing game is forever divided between Jonathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams, it seems, but both could have strong games against Indianapolis, the second-worst run defence in the league. The counter, of course, is that Carolinas run D is third-worst in the league, so Donald Brown or Joseph Addai might also have productive games. - The Browns league-best pass defence may pose a challenge for Bengals QB Andy Dalton, who could still be missing WR A.J. Green. - Jacksonville QB Blaine Gabbert hasnt thrown for more than 225 yards in a game yet and going up against Houstons second-ranked pass defence doesnt figure to change that. - Similarly, Kansas City QB Tyler Palko (soon to be replaced by waiver-pickup Kyle Orton) doesnt figure to fare any better against Pittsburghs third-ranked pass D after struggling against the Patriots on Monday. - Lions QB Matthew Stafford has been productive, for the most part, this season, so going up against Green Bays pass defence, which allows 289 passing yards per game, should make for another big day for the Lions aerial attack, no matter whether they win or lose. wholesale nfl jerseys . The No. 1-ranked Nadal tweaked his back warming up for the Australian Open final, which he lost almost four weeks ago in a major upset against Stanislas Wawrinka. His first stop after the layoff is the clay in Rio as he tests the back and tries to stay healthy for the French Open in three months. A year ago he used the Latin American swing to test his recovery from an injured left knee. Nadal seemed to move freely against Montanes and wore a large, blue elastic bandage on his lower back as a precaution. "The back, well, its bothering me a little," Nadal said. "Right now its not hurting my game, but Im serving a little more gently than Im used to doing." Nadal said he pushed his recovery "a little bit" to play in Rio, after pulling out of the tournament the week before in Buenos Aires. "I am here and very happy being here," he said. "When you get an injury in the final of a Grand Slam, and you stop (playing/practicing) for 2 1/2 weeks, the comeback is not easy." Asked if nagging injuries might force an early retirement, the 27-year-old joked a bit before getting serious. "I cant predict the future, but my intention is to play many years," he said. In the other key mens match, third-seeded Fabio Fognini reached the last eight beating Pablo Cuevas of Uruguay 7-6 (1), 4-6, 6-3. Second-seeded David Ferrer advanced on WWednesday. cheap nfl jerseys. Dolgopolov said he hadnt considered leaving the tournament to return to his Kyiv birthplace, where more than 100 people have died in anti-government protests this week. Government snipers killed at least 70 on Thursday. "Its sad. I cant do much, but just support," he said. "Whoever is right doesnt matter now when people are dying." Dolgopolov, who lives in the wealthy European enclave of Monte Carlo, said he was lucky to have the chance to make money playing tennis. "Obviously I would like the people in the (Ukraine) to feel better. If I could, I would change that," he said. On the womens side of the combined ATP-WTA event, fifth-seeded Kurumi Nara of Japan and Lourdes Dominguez Lino of Spain set up a quarterfinal matchup after second-round wins. Nara defeated Anna-Lena Friedsam of Germany 6-0, 7-6 (3), and was in sight of her first WTA semifinals. Dominguez Lino beat Chanelle Scheepers of South Africa 2-6, 7-6 (7), 6-1. Nara said she likes the hot weather in Rio and is getting used to the clay. "Now I like the clay court," she said. "Last year, I didnt like it." Irina-Camelia Begu of Romania also made the last eight, as did Brazils Teliana Pereira. She is the first Brazilian woman in 23 years to crack the WTAs top 100. The last was Andrea Vieira. Brazils most famous womens player is Maria Bueno, who won seven Grand Slams singles titles, the last at the US Open in 1966. ' ' '
