Company invests in an evolving storage product line, upcoming Axellio NVMe Super Server products and new markets

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Oct. 25th, 2016 – X-IO Technologies today announced two new members have joined its board of directors. Dave O’Callaghan and Mike Wall join the company at a time of renewed momentum, new products and entry into new markets.

Dave O’Callaghan has served as vice president of sales in a number of leading technology companies including VMware, Cisco and Hitachi. Mike Wall is a seasoned technology executive with a long history of managing storage startups and launching Intel’s storage business.

“The appointment of Dave and Mike to the X-IO board is perfectly timed with X-IO’s focused momentum and upcoming updates to our Intelligent Storage Element (ISE) platform and Axellio, our NVMe Super Server systems,” said X-IO CEO Bill Miller. “X-IO is positioned to provide breakthrough performance and cost, delivering solutions for demanding applications like cyber security, anomaly detection, bioinformatics and big data analytics. Adding Mike’s and Dave’s experience and leadership to our board of directors will help us get there.”

According to O’Callaghan, X-IO continues to make progress in executing its business, go-to-market and product strategy, with a focus on delivering innovations that increase efficiency, performance and simplicity.

“It’s exciting to see X-IO executing at all levels to make storage and high performance computing simple for customers with systems that easily scale for the highest-performing all-flash based applications,” said O’Callaghan. “The strategy is already allowing X-IO to invest in expanding its relationship with global partners and position itself for more success and revenue growth as it opens new doors.”

Wall believes X-IO’s Axellio NVMe Super Servers will help the company address new customer requirements for high-performance appliance solutions as enterprises contend with increasing needs for airtight security behind and beyond corporate firewalls. Using advanced technology from companies like Intel and others, he expects tremendous demand for this solution.

“I’m excited to join X-IO’s board to help guide the company into new frontiers with Axellio,” said Wall. “We’re seeing strong interest, especially with analytics firms and large financial institutions that require game-changing cyber security offerings for fraud detection and prevention.”

Over a 30-year career, O’Callaghan has been a sales leader, educator and industry expert in technology sales and marketing. He is a managing partner at O’Callaghan Capital, a consulting firm for resellers, and an adjunct professor at the University of Denver’s Executive MBA Program. Most recently, he was senior vice president of global partners at VMware from 2013 to 2015, driving partnerships across software-defined data centers, end user computing and hybrid cloud services. He held various sales leadership roles at Cisco from 2004 to 2011, including vice president of worldwide commercial sales where he drove the go-to market initiative for the $10 billion segment, and vice president of worldwide distribution for thousands of Cisco channel partners. He also spent 11 years as a sales executive at Hitachi.

Wall has a long history of leading the introduction of new technologies that have changed the landscape of high-performance computing and storage solutions. He served as CEO of Amplidata, which developed the world’s leading object storage software for large-scale cloud deployments before it was sold to Western Digital in 2015. Wall launched Intel’s storage group and served as general manager growing the company’s storage business to more than $500 million in annual sales. Prior to that, he served as general manager of Intel’s Supercomputing Systems Division.
