The team is composed of 100 professionals across 15 offices in the U.S., U.K. and Canada, and includes strategists, project managers, solution architects, writers, designers, web developers, production managers, and research and employee listening specialists.

**Engagement**

**Communication Consultant**

A consultant serves as a client contact with a senior staff member overseeing the client relationship, manages smaller projects, and acts as internal liaison for projects.

The selected candidate will help build our national Engagement Practice and must have experience in communication, preferably in employee communication solutions. Knowledge of human resources and benefits is preferred with areas of expertise to include the following:

* Communication strategy implementation

* Business development support

* Budgeting and project management

* Talent development

**Consulting/Client Delivery**

* Serves as key day-to-day client contact for questions, feedback or information requests with supervision by senior staff

* Attends client meetings to gather information, establish needs, clarify expectations, develop strategy and obtain feedback with supervision by senior staff

* Reviews changes with clients

* Updates clients regarding project status

* Educates clients about how design elements can help achieve communication goal

* Demonstrates detailed understanding of all aspects of communication process

* Manages some aspects of execution of a communication campaign (e.g., drafting, approvals, design, production)

* Ability to plan, draft and/or manage completion of all types of media, including direct mail, booklets, Web tools, face-to-face training and social media with supervision by senior staff

* Ensures quality services are provided to clients

* Demonstrates working knowledge of Human Resources (benefits, compensation, change management)

* Develops detailed understanding of communications and HR issues pertinent to client projects

* Develops detailed knowledge and understanding of client personality, message consistency and accuracy

* Ensures message consistency, accuracy and appropriate client “tone”

* Develops and edits content for client deliverables that are designed to engage employees and drive desired behaviors

* Reviews design and written elements of the materials

* Coordinates daily details of work process

* Develops professional and personal relationships, as appropriate

**Business Development**

* Assists with new business development with existing clients and prospects from other practice areas

* Support CM’s, AE’s and consultants with research and concept development for proposals

* Helps expand client relationships by reviewing project activity and identifying opportunities for growth

* Assists in the preparation of presentations and new business proposals

* Attend meetings with clients and plays a supporting role in discussions on client needs and available services

**Financial**

* Assists senior staff with preparation of project schedules and budgets

* Assists senior staff with managing overall project budgets (production, consulting and design costs) resulting in on-time delivery, within budget

* Manages mid-size projects (i.e., $75K and below), or key milestones for larger projects, ensuring project quality & client satisfaction

* Advises Client Manager/Account Executive/client of project changes (i.e., budget, scope) to manage expectations

* Assists with the preparation and timely submission of bills

**Talent Development**

* Mentors lower levels in client solutions and client relations

* With senior staff approval, provide recommendations for staff training and development opportunities

**Other Qualifications**

* Undergraduate degree, preferably in English, Business, Communications or related field

* Certifications (CEBS or investment/financial related) and industry affiliations (IABC, IFEBP) are definitely a plus, but not required

* 4-7 years in communications and HR. Likely to come from corporate communications, public relations, journalism, advertising, marketing, corporate benefits or benefits industry. Consulting background preferred.

* Knowledge of Human Resources (e.g., benefits, compensation, change management) and Communication business (e.g., content, design, production, technology)

* Works well within a team and independently, when needed

* Superior written communication skills and strong oral communication skills

* Demonstrates strong attention to detail, excellent organization and time management skills

* Demonstrates creativity
