May perform one or more of the following: Designs and implements system requirements for customers and analyzes existing systems.

Installs and maintains mainframe, midrange, or NT operating systems and related software to ensure stable performance.

Evaluates system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.

Develops, tests, installs, and modifies computer software for operating systems, compilers, utilities, multiprogramming, and telecommunications systems.

Develops and installs programs for large-scale or high volume transactions requiring IBM/MVS or similar mainframe processing.

Develops and installs programs to support general business applications.

Develops programs on midrange computers such as the IBM AS/400 or UNIX based mini/midrange computers.

Evaluates and installs database management systems.

Plans computerized databases, including base definition, structure, documentation, long-range requirements, operational guidelines and protection.

*Storage Infrastructure Management Principal*

In the role of Storage Infrastructure Management Principal, the candidate will be responsible for strategy, design and implementation of storage arrays and fibre channel switches in a heterogeneous environment including EMC, HDS, HP, IBM, NetApp, Brocade and Cisco equipment. The candidate will be responsible for level 3 escalations to support storage operational teams including incident, problem, change, and release management. The candidate must be able to utilize IT best practices and new technologies in order to implement and support storage systems for our clients.

*Job Role*

· Performs hardware and software installations and upgrades

· Configures and tunes new storage arrays and FC Switches and their related software including replication.

· Performs storage and fabric refresh and migration services

· Monitors system performance and capacity

· Assists operational teams with incident, problem, change and release management of the storage infrastructure

· Works with project teams to develop system requirements and implementation plans

· Forecasts system demands, recommends upgrades, expansion and reconfiguration

· Troubleshoots hardware and software problems, takes appropriate corrective action and/or interacts with IT staff or vendors in performing complex testing, support and troubleshooting functions

· Documents standards and operating procedures for the storage systems and acts as a technical resource to the IT staff and systems users

· Performs related duties as assigned or requested

*Required Skills, Competencies, Education or Experience*

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and at least four, typically six or more years’ experience with EMC storage administration, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

· Requires an extensive knowledge of storage and fibre switch technology

· Requires knowledge of telecommunication technology (e.g., network protocols and topologies).

· Requires good consultative and communication skills, analytical ability, judgment, and the ability to work effectively with client and other systems technical staff, consultants and vendors

· Previous experience as a SAN Administrator with emphasis on configuring and presenting storage to UNIX, Linux and Windows based systems and clusters

· Experience with EMC SRDF and RecoverPoint or HDS HUR for DR implementations

· Experience with Replication Manager software for EMC and HDS technologies

· Experience with VNX / VNX2 / VNXe arrays

· Experience with NetApp Storage Arrays and Replication

· Experience configuring Storage Pools, NAS, CIFS, NFS

· Experience configuring SAN related multipathing tools on hosts both Microsoft Windows and Unix/Linux

· Experience with VPLEX including but not limited to Encapsulation, Data Mobility

· Experience working with Brocade family of fabric switches

· Experience working with Cisco MDS family of fabric switches

· Experience working with EMC SRM suite for monitoring and capacity planning

· Experience working with Aptare suite for monitoring and capacity planning

· 24 X 7 call out availability when required

· Nights & Weekend work may be required
