**Role Summary:**

Reports directly to CIO and is responsible for leading a team that builds relationships with all levels of the Commercial Excellence organization through understanding both business strategy and tactical technology requirements and creating Information Technology (IT) roadmaps to support near term needs while ensuring a viable longer term solutions.

Is responsible for the continual development of the team to maximize the impact of critical IT roles in the partnership with the business to support transformation projects, tactical projects and other change critical to the Commercial Excellence organization. These roles include Business Engagement Leaders and Business Systems Analysts.

Direct staff consists of:

+ Business Engagement Leaders who work with their Commercial Excellence partners to align resources to achieve business tactical and strategic objectives

+ Business Systems Analysts who will work with the business and the business engagement leaders to ensure technology solutions support the business request or opportunity and are based on the enterprise architecture.

Works closely with Project Management Office, Enterprise Architecture and Application development and delivery organizations to ensure

Works closely with other CIO staff members to influence and implement strategic IT architectures, drive Security and Compliance, partner to deliver most cost effective and high quality production operations and technology implementation on projects and change controls.

**Purpose:**

The IM Senior Business Engagement Executive is the strategic interface with the Commercial Excellence organization for the purpose of business-IT strategy development, solution discovery, risk management and relationship management. The Senior Engagement Executive provides highly-valued strategic consulting level support for IT initiatives. The Senior Engagement Executive also serves as key point of contact for IT business stakeholders and is a top-level escalation point for any IT need within the Commercial Excellence organization.

**Scope:**

+ General – Recognized as an expert within the IT organization to work with the business on the development of IT business strategy (roadmap) and investment portfolio that enables the achievement of business goals and objectives - will include global accountability.

+ Problem Complexity – Proactively identifies, defines and solves the most complex technology driven problems that impact the direction of the business.

+ Impact – Failure may result in inability to reach goals crucial to significant org and/or Company objectives; has a long term effect on the company’s success. For example: Inability to grow and maintain knowledge of business process and technology enablers.

+ Freedom to act – Represents the Xerox Information Management organization in the partnership with the business toward predetermined long-range targets.

+ Interactions – Interactions frequently involve working with the executive levels of the Commercial Excellence organization to resolve conflict of priorities and allocation of resources regarding matters of significance to the organization.

**Responsibilities:**

+ The Engagement Leader possesses and demonstrates broad global value chain understanding of the Commercial Excellence scope of focus and the impact on the other business areas

+ Strategic Planning - builds a trusted relationship with the business and participates in business planning sessions.

+ Establishes and maintains a strategic relationship with appropriate key stakeholders.

+ Leads an organization that develops and maintains critical IT partnerships across business analytics, complex program delivery and architectural solution design.

+ Works with the business leadership to determine IT affordability and advises on allocation of those resources across processes and business functions.

+ Participates in short and long term strategic planning sessions with Value Chain Partners to improve business processes.

+ Understands and anticipates direction of the business and identifies opportunities and makes recommendations to support the business future state.

+ Provides support through the annual budget process. Performs routine analysis and reconciliation of plan to actual and works with Business and XIM partners to gain and document and understanding of any variance.

+ Ensures there is a visibility to security and compliance and facilities decision making regarding such matters.

+ Partners with the IT functions in XIM and the business to ensure the viability of the technology solutions designed for the business

+ Ensures the oversight for resolution of executive escalated IT issues.

+ Represents the business strategies and priorities in IT community relative to adjoining IT applications and platforms that enables the business

+ Represents the IT vision to the business leaders.

+ Ensures IT solutions support the business’s short and long term business goals/strategy and align with IT strategy.

+ Analyzes technology trends to determine impact to the achievement of business goals.

+ Identify business opportunities and may assess and provide recommendations based on business relevance, appropriate timing, technology, implementation, and deployment.

+ Coaching/Mentoring – Develop, motivates, direct IT members as appropriate.

+ Fosters a team environment.

+ Bachelor’s Degree required in Business Administration, Information Systems or other related field. Need business, influence behavior and deep understanding of how technology enables businesses. Master’s Degree preferred - Ideally, a technical and business educational background.

+ Experience successfully leading large, complex projects and or business /IT consulting/management roles.

+ Significant prior experience in Business Operations, Requirements Articulation and Project/Program Management.

+ Demonstrated level of understanding in major IT process/service areas including security, sourcing/vendor management, risk management, disaster recovery/business resumption and service delivery.

+ Requires leadership and negotiation skills and experience/in-depth knowledge of the business requirements analysis and IT processes.

+ Foundational knowledge of associated technical disciplines e.g. process re-design, systems development, and service delivery. Uses high level of technical understanding to explain technical issues for their business partners and give confidence and credibility to the overall IT team.

+ Communicating with Confidence & Impact: Listens for broad understanding; Asks open-ended questions; Illustrates points effectively; Challenge in an effective manner.

+ Takes an Enterprise-Wide Perspective: Negotiates to maximize the benefits to Xerox; Cooperates with all significant stakeholders; Teams and networks with XIM colleagues to maximize overall enterprise value. Demonstrates up to date knowledge of the organization’s policy framework, organizational relationships, business processes, reporting procedures, and existing and planned information systems and services.

+ Creative & Versatile: Ensures a broad perspective underlies all decisions; Demonstrates originality on solving problems; Develops solutions to problems through investigation of previous work; Demonstrates agility by constantly learning better ways of doing the job. Competitive / Market Industry: Has wide and detailed IT knowledge, together with detailed understanding of the principles of business and markets and sound experience of relevant business sectors.

+ Effectively builds and motivates a multi-discipline IT team and foster high collaboration with XTB business partner and other dependent IT teams.

+ The Senior Business Engagement Executive must be able to communicate clearly, negotiate, listen, mitigate conflict, build alliances and achieve desired results using strong interpersonal, and diplomacy skills. Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of the business to identify and communicate how IT solutions can support the achievement of both short-term and long-term goals.
