Revere Beach International Sand Sculpting Festival

In it’s 12th year, the Revere Beach International Sand Sculpting Festival returns again this weekend. Master sand sculptors from around the world compete in this national contest that attracts international, national and regional media coverage. Shakespeare on the Common – Boston Common, Boston, MA

For the 20th season production of Free Shakespeare on the Common, CSC is pleased to present King Lear for the very first time. King Lear follows the journey of an aging king, faced with his own mortality and mental decline, who tries to secure the legacy of his kingdom by dividing it amongst his three daughters. Free Friday Flicks – E.T. – DCR Hatch Memorial Shell, Boston, MA

FIGMENT Boston 2015 – Kennedy Greenway, Boston, MA

This weekend, FIGMENT Boston returns to the Rose Kennedy Greenway in downtown Boston. The festival allows artists to showcase original works and create something that gets people to interact, to participate and collaborate with each other. Check out dance performances, art projects, and music all along the Greenway this weekend. Plus, there’s a FIGMENT After Dark Dance Party in Dewey Square on Saturday night. Boston Summer Arts Weekend – Copley Plaza, Boston, MA

This free outdoor festival is in its fourth year and features art and music performances in Copley Square both Saturday and Sunday. From New Orleans jazz to blues, family acts and Americana, there is something for everyone at this year’s event, including performances by Emmylou Harris and the Blue Man Group.
