Mainstreet Steamboat Springs will hold its annual meeting from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 15 at Sweetwater Grill. The featured speaker will be Julie Underdahl, executive director of the Cherry Creek North Business Improvement District. Flock your friend’s yards with fundraising flamingos

In honor of National Mentoring Month, Partners in Routt County is encouraging community members to “flock their friends” throughout the month of January. For $20, you can request a flock of 10 flamingos to be placed in a yard of your choice. The flock will roost for about 24 hours before migrating to another yard. Afraid you might get flocked? Purchase anti-flocking insurance to protect your yard. Funds raised help to support Partners’ mentoring programs. For more information about becoming a mentor or how to flock a friend for Partners, visit http://partnersrouttcounty.org/national-mentoring-month/ or call 970-879-6141, ext. 300.
