DETROIT (WWJ) – It’s bound to be good Kindle or Netflix weather. Another round of snow is on the way this weekend.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for all of Southeast Michigan — now in effect through midnight Saturday.

AccuWeather Meteorologist Dave Bowers said the flakes started falling late Friday night, but the bulk of the accumulation will fall Saturday and Saturday night.

“It can come down heavy at times, and where it stays snow, there will be a lot of it,” Bowers said. “There could be a good 6, 7, 8 inches in the northern and western suburbs.”

From downtown Detroit on south, though, Bowers said the snow will likely mix with some rain at the height of the storm, Saturday afternoon and evening.  He said areas south of the city should expect 2 to 4 inches of snow, with additional accumulation possible into early Sunday morning.

“It’s just dry and cold Sunday and Monday, with a little sunshine. Then the next storm comes along,” he said. “This will be late Tuesday when it starts, the snow … and that could be a pretty significant accumulation Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.”

Metro Detroit broke the record, Thursday night, for most snowfall in any month.
