AUBURN HILLS (WWJ) – The control systems integrator Patti Engineering Inc. says it is experiencing strong growth through continued project work with Chrysler, which has made a remarkable recovery since filing for bankruptcy in 2009.

“Patti Engineering has been fortunate to be a part of Chrysler’s comeback. Nicely recovered from bankruptcy in 2009, Chrysler has invested heavily in plant automation and modernization. It’s an inspiring success story,” said Sam Hoff, executive vice president of sales and marketing at Patti Engineering. “As a Siemens Certified Solution Partner and Mitsubishi Authorized System Integrator, we expedite coordination and implementation of technology designed specifically for auto manufacturing to sustainably reduce costs and increase availability and productivity for our customers.”

Chrysler was the first domestic automaker to introduce an eight-speed transmission in its models and recently built a nine-speed transmission in the Chrysler Transmission Plant in Kokomo, Ind. The new nine-speed front-wheel drive transmission — which Patti Engineering teamed with an auto supplier to implement equipment and build — enhances fuel economy and performance. Patti Engineering recently spearheaded the development of a software platform, leveraging strengths of the Mitsubishi HMI and PLC product line, to provide Chrysler advantages in standardization. The project involved developing standardization of the user interfaces to make it easier and more efficient for operators to move from station to station.

“Mitsubishi Electric views Patti Engineering as one of the premier systems integrators in the Mitsubishi Electric Systems Integrator Program,” said Mark Werthman, director of the technical support group at Mitsubishi. “The company and its engineering team brings a wealth of product and application knowledge to any project involving the integration of Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation products. Our partnership has been rewarding for both businesses. Patti Engineering’s experience with our technology ensures success in every implementation.”
