LONDON — Condé Nast International has named Elizabeth Schimel, currently president of Condé Nast China, a vice president of Condé Nast International. Schimel will also join the firm’s executive committee.
Schimel will continue to direct Condé Nast China alongside taking on the wider responsibilities of the executive committee. Schimel joins fellow vice presidents Giampaolo Grandi, James Woolhouse and Moritz von Laffert, alongside president Nicholas Coleridge and chairman and chief executive Jonathan Newhouse.
Schimel has held the title of president of Condé Nast China since October 2013, and the firm noted that during her tenure, the territory has become “one of the most important businesses for Condé Nast International.” Condé Nast International publishes titles including Vogue, Self, GQ and Condé Nast Traveler in the region, under copyright cooperation with various Chinese publishers.
Prior to joining Condé Nast International, Schimel was chief digital officer of Meredith and chairman of the board of Next Issue Media, a joint venture between Condé Nast, Hearst, Time Inc. and Meredith.
