WILMINGTON, NC – Communities In Schools of Cape Fear will be holding a “Plungin’ for a Purpose” event to support high school students in the Cape Fear area on January 1 at 1 p.m.

Communities In Schools of Cape Fear works to ensure that students have the resources they need to stay in school and graduate high school.

The 2017 Wrightsville Plunge will take place at Crystal Pier, behind the Oceanic, at 703 S Lumina Ave, Wrightsville Beach.

Guests are invited to arrive at noon to enjoy live music, hot beverages, children’s activities, and more before plunging into the wintery waters at 1 p.m. Participants can register individually or in teams.

The Oceanic SouthEnd Surf Shop and SUNday’s Café will provide food and beverages after the event, with specials being offered to the brave participants who have dared to dive into the cold seas.

Registration is $25 and the first 300 people to register will be guaranteed an event t-shirt.
