(WTNH)– With Halloween approaching, it’s that time of year when candy is on everyone’s mind. But which candy will wow your trick-or-treaters? Well, if you live in Connecticut, you might not be surprised by the answer.
The product discovery and reviews site Influenster surveyed 40,000 users in all 50 states to find out which Halloween candies are the most popular in each state.
For us in Connecticut, you may want to stock up on Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, because that was voted the favorite candy for Connecticut.
And it’s not just the Nutmeggers who like Reese’s, the chocolate peanut butter goodness was one of only three candies to be voted on by every single state. The other two were Kit Kat and Butterfinger. The Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup was also the top pick for our neighbor, Rhode Island.
“It was not surprising to see that Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups pulled the highest total number of votes,” Aydin Acar, Cofounder and CEO of Influenster, tells Mashable.
Another notable mention, candy corn. While most people either love it or hate it, the Halloween staple was the favorite in the most number of states this year, according to Influencer. Candy corn proved to be the pick for Texas, Tennessee, Oregon, South Carolina and Wyoming.
Other candies on the list: Air Heads, Snickers, Skittles, Livesavers, Milk Way, Hershey’s Kisses, M&Ms, Swedish Fish and many more.
“These timeless Halloween candies have remained a constant across generations,” said Acar.
Surprisingly, Influencer even included the Oreo cookie as an option to be voted on because of the Halloween edition that is released every year.
