MYSTIC, Conn. (WTNH) — Perfect for staycations with family and friends: Mystic Seaport will be open year-round starting in January.
The seaport boasts several indoor exhibits, perfect during the chilly months. But during milder days, visitors can hop on board the Charles W. Morgan, the last wooden whaling ship and the oldest commercial ship still afloat.
The seaport usually closes during the first few weeks of the winter but the new plan would be the first of many changes to come.
Their Thompson Exhibit Building is currently under construction, but is set to open in the fall of 2016.
