(WTNH)– There are millions of apps out there created to make your life easier but which one is worth the download? With the success of Parkmobile in New Haven, News 8 found some other apps that are helpful for your on the go lifestyle.

Uber   (FREE)

Need a ride somewhere? With a push of a button, this app requests a ride from a private driver without reservations or taxi lines. You just set your pickup location and final destination on your phone and can even track your driver to see their progress. You can also pay on your phone so no cash is required.

Metro-Taxi CT  (FREE)

If you need a taxi in the state, Metro Taxi is the largest full cab company in Connecticut. The app allows you to book a reservation and get a fare estimation for your trip. The app will notify you of your reservation confirmation, your taxi number and you can monitor the progress of your taxi on a map.

Gas Buddy  (FREE)

Maybe you want to drive yourself? Well your car is going to need gas so why not use the app Gas Buddy find the cheapest gas near you, report gas prices to help other drivers and earn points for a chance to win $100 of gas a day.

Waze  (FREE)

This app is created to approve your commute overall. You join other local drivers in the area to share real-time traffic and road information.  The live routing is based on community driven, real time traffic.  You can also get alerts on accidents, hazards, police traps and road closures.  Other useful tools include voice guided navigation, cheap gas locations and automatic updates on your location and ETA that you can send instead of texting.

Station Stop  ($2.99)

This app allows you to find your next Metro- North train instantly even without internet connection. Check you arrival, departure and travel times for that day or plan for a weekend trip. You can even find out what track your train is on and see where you are on your route in real time with the GPS tracker.

Amtrak  (FREE)

If you’re traveling by Amtrak train you can use their app to book your tickets, check your train status and  information about your trip or train station. You can also show your e-ticket on board instead of buying one at the station.

Hartford Bradley Airport- Flight Tracker   (.99)

This app gives you live arrival and departure boards, terminal maps, food and restaurant locations in the airport and parking. You can also find an alternate flight, rebook it, check in, and get details on your flight, baggage and seats, all without waiting in those long lines at the airport.

Tweed New Haven Airport   (FREE)

This app provides real time flight arrival and departure times, as well as information on ground transportation, parking, car rentals and airlines. Passengers can also provide direct feedback to the airport.
