BRAZIL, Ind. (WTHI) – The person of interest in a Brazil homicide investigation has died.

Officials say 21-year-old Trevor Okulovich of Brazil died of what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

On Friday, officials said a 911 call was made stating there was a person with a gunshot wound at 922 Noble Street in Brazil.

That person was identified as Eric Hutton II. He was taken to St. Vincent Clay Hospital where officials report he died from his injuries.

Just after 1:00 Friday afternoon, police located Okulovich inside of an apartment located at 601 West Central Avenue, Apartment F11, in Brazil.

Okulovich was considered a person of interest in the investigation.

Officers attempted to talk him into leaving the apartment.

According to police, he appeared in the window quickly, showing his hands.

After Okulovich closed the curtains, police heard a single gunshot.

Officers entered the apartment and found him on the floor with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

The Brazil Police Department and investigators with the Indiana State Police are still investigating the case.
