WABASH VALLEY, Ind. (WTHI) – UPDATE: The body found on Friday has been identified as Cathryn McGill.

Indiana Conservation Officer Mike Kellner said Saturday in a statement that an autopsy also found that 31-year-old Cathryn McGill’s had drowned.

On Friday afternoon a body was discovered at the site of a missing person investigation.

On December 29, 2013 Adam and Cathryn McGill were swept off State Road 257 at the Pike-Daviess county line by flood waters. Adam McGill was rescued by nearby hunters but they were unable to locate Cathryn.

The search for her body has continued since the day of the incident.

Just before 2 p.m. on Friday a resident discovered the body in debris near the mouth of a creek that feeds into the White River.

The body will be taken to the Vanderburgh County Morgue for examination and identification.

An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday.
