CLINTON, SC (WSPA) – Three people have been charged with Murder and Desecration of Human Remains of missing teen Edwin Diaz-Chirinos, according to Sheriff Ricky Chastain.

The body was found on abandoned property in Clinton around 4 on Monday evening.

The Laurens County Coroner says the cause of death is blunt force trauma to the head.

The coroner’s office has to use DNA to fully confirm the identity of the victim.

Karina Galarza, 17, Fabian La’Michael-Rashad Green, 19, and Davian Shquon Holman, 17, have been arrested and charged with murder and desecration of human remains.

The sheriff’s office says the three suspects lured the Diaz-Chirinos to a home in Laurens County where he was beaten and then dropped off at that location in Clinton.

The sheriff’s office says the body was removed from the car and set on fire.

The car they found was the silver mustang that missing teen Edwin Diaz-Chirinos was last seen in.

“This is a tragic situation for the victim’s family and our community. We will work tirelessly to make sure justice is served,” said Sheriff Chastain.

The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office and assisting agencies have worked through the night and the investigation is still ongoing.

SLED, the Clinton Department of Public Safety, and the Laurens Police Department all assisted.
