The Decatur & Macon County Animal Shelter Foundation, the Decatur Park District’s Fido Fields Dog Park  and NowDecatur are proud to present Fido Scurry! September 24th in Fairview Park.

The 16th annual Fido Scurry is a 5K or 1-Mile Run or Walk With or Without a Pet Participant. Fido Scurry celebrates the unique bond between humans and animals and is designed for pet/person participation!

FIDO SCURRY SCHEDULE

8:00 Yappy Hour Check-in, socializing, t-shirt and bandana pick-up, face painting and balloon animals.

8:30 Ecumenical blessing of the animals

8:40 Pet Parade & Costume Contest

9:00 Dog Jog – Race/Walk Race will proceed in three groups: runners, runners with pets, walkers

9:30 Lap Up in Pavilion #1 Wrap up with complimentary beverages and treats for people and pets. Enjoy demonstrations from law enforcement dogs and retriever dogs. Participate in doggie games!

Medals/Prizes Medals will be awarded to race winners in several categories, with & without pet partners. Prizes will be awarded to contest and doggie games winners. Theme Pet and people costumes are encouraged but not required for the Pet Parade. This year’s theme: “My All American Dog.” Prizes will be awarded for various categories of costumes for pets and people, including best pet/person duo.
