DECATUR – Dove Inc. is welcoming Christine Gregory as their new Executive Director.
Gregory has been a member of the Decatur community since 1995. Chair of the search committee, Richard Swan, says Gregory fit the description of what they were looking for in a new Executive Director.
“We were looking for som
eone who had experience in the social service arena,” says Swan. “She has quite a bit of experience on several sides of that including work as a very experienced foster parent.”
Gregory has served in a number of faith-based roles prior to joining Dove Inc. She was a foster and adoptive parent with Lutheran Child and Family Services, a regular volunteer with the Judy Mason Project and a mentor with Webster-Cantrell Hall.
Swan says the search committee had two to three options but Gregory stood above the others, especially on the grant writing capabilities.
Swan says Gregory has a very likable personality and is very good in social events.
“She’s a very gregarious person who’s comfortable speaking in many areas,” says Swan. “She likes to joke and some people say, that’s not rocket science, but because of her background with the NASA Mars probes she is a rocket scientist. She has a very good sense of humor as you can tell from something like that.”
Gregory will begin her duties as Executive Director at Dove on March 1st
