Meet friends, editors at Hospitality Tent

The Prairie Farmer and Indiana Prairie Farmer Hospitality Tent, located between Fifth Progress and Sixth Progress streets on Central Progress Avenue, offers a central location for you to meet up with other members of your group.
It’s also a great place to meet Farm Progress and Penton Agriculture editors and staffers, check on your subscription, purchase souvenirs, register for a chance to win valuable prizes, take in a marketing seminar or watch a TV program being videoed.
Prairie Farmer, Indiana Prairie Farmer, Farm Futures and sister Penton Agriculture publications’ staff editors and writers will be on hand to hear your comments, story ideas.
Farm Futures’ Bryce Knorr, senior market analyst, will present his keen market evaluations and economic insights and implications to help you fine-tune your marketing strategies. Knorr will present two workshops daily at Noon and 1 p.m., on the Hospitality Tent stage. Learn about the 2016 Farm Futures Summit where you can really boost your marketing skills.
Catch a star
Max Armstrong and Orion Samuelson will be shooting segments of the next edition of This Week in Agribusiness on the stage and you can watch their performances 2 – 4 p.m. on Tuesday. You can also catch Max and Orion to say “hello.” Relax in the audience seating area and watch the setup process and check out past episodes of Max’s Tractor Shed on the stage monitor.

Buy souvenirs
If you are souvenir hunting, check out the official 2015 Farm Progress Show collector’s pins, available in the tent’s center “pin” area for $5 each, while supplies last.
Souvenir show T-shirts and other wearables are also available for sale.
Check subscriptions
If you are wondering how much time is left on your subscription or want to buy a subscription to Prairie Farmer or additional Penton Agriculture publications, you can do that during your visit to the Hospitality Tent as well. Purchase a subscription at a special discounted price and receive a special gift with your purchase.
Learn farm safety
Can you tell the difference from a liquid herbicide or sports drink by sight? You just may be stumped if you take the quiz to learn about the similar appearance of common toxic household and farm products and beverages, candy, etc. Bring the kids and take the quiz!
The Progressive Agriculture Safety Foundation, sponsor of the Progressive Agriculture Safety Day programs, will be on hand to demonstrate, help you with the quiz and provide more information.
The Grain Handling and Safety Coalition will also have a grain safety display and organization staff will be on hand to provide more ideas and tips for grain handling safety.
Military Veterans
Representatives from the Illinois American will be on with information to assist farmers who are also military veterans learn about federal benefits that are available to small business farmers who are veterans.
Cooling Area and ATMs
Finally, the Hospitality Tent is equipped with cooling units and chairs. So take time to sit awhile and relax. And if you are short on cash, there are two ATMs inside the tent.
