ROANOKE COUNTY (WSLS 10)  – Northside Middle School and Hidden Valley High School have new principals. The following comes from Roanoke County Schools:

The Roanoke County School Board has named Dr. Paul Lineburg as the new principal at Northside Middle School, effective July 1.  Dr. Lineburg replaces Lori Wimbush, who has been named the new principal at Hidden Valley High School.

Dr. Lineburg first joined Roanoke County Public Schools in 1995 as a teacher at Cave Spring High School.  He moved to the RCPS Central Office in 2001 as the coordinator of Social Studies.  In 2002, he returned to Cave Spring High School as assistant principal until 2010 when he became the assistant principal at William Byrd High School.  In 2015, he was named the Director of Administration for Roanoke County Public Schools.

Dr. Lineburg earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Virginia Tech in 1995, a Master’s Degree from Radford University in 2000 and a Doctorate from Virginia Tech in 2010.

“I’m pleased Paul will be returning to a school administration role,” said Dr. Greg Killough, superintendent of Roanoke County Public Schools.  “Paul has a wealth of experience in school leadership and I know he will be a fantastic principal at Northside Middle,” Dr. Killough added.

The Roanoke County School Board has named Lori Wimbush as the new principal at Hidden Valley High School, effective July 1.  Wimbush replaces Rhonda Stegall, who has been named the new Director of Secondary Instruction for Roanoke County Public Schools.

Wimbush first joined Roanoke County Public Schools as the assistant principal at Northside Middle School in 2004.  She was named principal at NMS in 2006.  Before joining Roanoke County, Wimbush served as a teacher in Henry County and Roanoke City.

Wimbush holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in administration and supervision from Radford University.  She also holds an Educational Specialist’s degree from Liberty University.

“Lori has been a tremendous leader at Northside Middle School,” said Roanoke County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Greg Killough.  “I’m pleased she is moving to the high school level at Hidden Valley.  I know she will be a fantastic leader for the students and staff at HVHS,” Dr. Killough said.
