We’ve got some shocking news coming from our station today. General Manager, Deb Thompson, is being arrested but before you assume the worst it’s actually for a good cause. She and several others from the community will be “doing a little time” to help raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s(MDA) Lock-Up to help combat neuromuscular diseases. For Deb’s and the other detainees release, they will have to “make bail” through the tax-deductible donations to the MDA. Her goal is to raise $1,600 for local adults and children suffering from muscle disease, which in turn, will use a portion to send two local kids to MDA Summer Camp.

The overall goal of the MDA Lock-Up event is to raise a grand total of $56,000.

She is being taken into custody in the early afternoon and will be spending an hour behind bars at the Charles Morris center with the other “MDA jailbirds”. She is confident she will be released on bail through the donations made to MDA on her behalf.

To make donations to MDA on Deb’s or any of the other participants behalf:

1)   Click this link: www.mdalockup.org/savannah2016 and click “Support a Jailbird”

2)   Search for DEB THOMPSON or the name of the person you want to help “bail out”

3)   Once you get to my page, click “DONATE TO ME”

4)   Select your gift amount

5)   Fill out the rest of the information to submit payment

All the money raised will stay in Savannah to help children and adults living with ALS, Muscular Dystrophy, and other muscle diseases with a portion helping send kids and adults to camp. There will be another “lock-up” event on March 31st.
