PR Samples

One brand that I’ve consistently admired for its gorgeous packaging, but have not yet featured on Writing Whimsy is Paul & Joe. The Spring 2016 Collection contains a range of colourful blushes, shadows and limited edition packaging and I have Paul & Joe Compact 010 Playful Pastel Jungle design with a gorgeous Paul & Joe Powder Blush 02 Re-Belle refill to put inside it!

Almost all Paul & Joe makeup comes with the packaging sold separately, which gives you the flexibility to pick whatever cute pattern you want (or use a Z-Palette if you  prefer). The fun part is you can also mix up your makeup just by moving one product from one packaging to the other, which I think is a lot of fun.

I have the Paul & Joe Compact 010 Playful Pastel Jungle which is a perfect for me, because zebras are one of my favourite animals. This sturdy cardboard case has a magnetic closure and a design that features tigers, jaguars, and zebras with a pink, yellow and blue backdrop. The blush latches onto the compact by a magnet and while it is very secure (I even tried shaking it upside down) it’s also very easy to remove, since there’s a little gap and no risk of digging your nail into it…sadly that has happened to me with makeup more than once.

Of course, a compact is no use without some makeup to put inside, and the Paul & Joe Powder Blush 02  Re-Belle is lovely. It has a floral design embossed on it and features 2/3 a soft, peachy pink shimmery blush and 1/3 a satin pink mauve blush. Both shades have a very creamy, blendable formula and although I have swatched them separately it’s easiest to apply swirled together a shimmery pink with peach undertones.

In the above photo I’m wearing the Paul & Joe Powder Blush 02 and it is lovely. This blush blends gorgeously into the skin and gives a natural glow. The shimmer is not overwhelming or glittery, and it’s easy to build up or apply more softly. It’s also the perfect shade for Spring. I did not find it especially long wearing, but top with a setting spray (I love the one from MAKE UP FOR EVER) and you’ll be good to go!

I’ve tried one other product from Paul & Joe in the past but this is my first time using a colour cosmetic from them and I am definitely impressed. The Paul & Joe Compact 010 Playful Pastel Jungle design is adorable, and limited edition so worth picking up before it disappears. While you’re at it you might as well add one of the new shades from the Paul & Joe Powder Blush Range, and I definitely recommend 02 Re-Belle.

Have you tried Paul & Joe makeup before? Let me know what your favourite product is from the brand!
