Chemistry Learning Specialist
The Learning Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for the full-time position of Chemistry Learning Specialist.
Duties for this position include the following: academic coaching for students from all disciplines; specialized support for students in chemistry courses; design and delivery of Learning Center workshops; and development of small learning groups to strengthen chemistry skills. This position also collaborates with academic and administrative departments across the University to help undergraduate students succeed.
We seek applications from individuals with experience providing both individual instruction/coaching and chemistry support to students. Preferred candidates will also have knowledge of best practices in chemistry pedagogy, experience with tutoring and/or small group learning, and a record of collaboration with colleagues. Demonstrated experience designing web-based instructional materials is an advantage. Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in Education, STEM, or a related field; and 3-5 years of related experience at a research-based college or university, or 3-5 years experience teaching chemistry.
