A couple that was pulled from their burning Chester County home last month has died, officials said. Greene Funeral Home in Rock Hill told said that Buddy and Sandy Foster have died, weeks after being hospitalized at a burn center when their home caught fire.
Leon Ernandez..the couple’s neighbor saw smoke coming from the Foster’s home, and when he rushed over, he found Buddy Foster by his front door. Ernandez said he grabbed a piece of wood and smashed the door window and pulled Foster away from the fire. When firefighters arrived on scene, they found Foster’s wife, Sandy, inside the home suffering from smoke inhalation.
The couple was listed in critical condition at a burn center in Winston-Salem. They died earlier this week. Chester fire officials said the fire likely started in the kitchen, possibly from a pot on the stove. The fire remains under investigation.
