At its Global Press Conference today at IFA Berlin, Acer announced various new devices, from notebook PCs to Gaming monitors to World’s thinest laptops. Let’s have a look at each of them separately.

SWIFT SERIES

Acer announced Swift Series at IFA 2016, Berlin. The series has 4 different modes – Swift 1, Swift 3, Swift 5 and Swift 7. They are the world’s thinnest laptops ever made, beating HP’s Spectre, which was the world’s thinnest laptop till now.



Acer Swift 7 – Ultra–Slim with All-Day Battery Life

The Swift 7 weighs in at just 2.48 pounds (1.1 kg) and measures a mere 0.39 inches (9.98 mm) thin, making it the world’s first laptop to measure less than 1 cm thin. Its black-and-gold dual tone design brings a touch of elegance to its durable all-aluminum uni-body, while tough Corning Gorilla Glass adds superior scratch resistance to the 13.3-inch Full HD IPS1 display with a micro-bezel. With up to 9 hours of battery life, it is the perfect notebook for those on the go.

It is powered by a 7th Generation Intel Core i5 processor, fast 256GB SSD and up to 8GB of memory.  The latest wireless technology (2×2 802.11ac with MU-MIMO) delivers reliable and up to three times faster connections, while dual USB 3.1 Type-C ports are included for quick data transfer.

Acer will start selling the Swift 7 in North America this October with prices starting at $999. The company will also launch the Swift 7 in Europe, the Middle East and Africa in October where prices will start at €1,299.

Acer Swift 5 – High-End Features without the Weight

Just 0.57 inches (14.58 mm) in height and weighing 3 pounds (1.36 kg), the Swift 5 manages to fit a 14-inch Full HD IPS display into a 13-inch frame, making it the ultimate in portability and usability. Available in Pearl White with gold trimming or Obsidian Black with silver trimming, it cuts an impressive figure combining brushed metal surfaces and diamond cut accents.

7th Generation Intel Core processors coupled with fast SSDs (256 or 512 SATA or PCIe), up to 8GB of memory and the latest wireless technology deliver big results in a small package. Rounding out this strong feature set is up to 13 hours2 of battery life, a backlit keyboard, a reversible USB 3.1 Type-C port and options for a touch display and fingerprint reader.

Acer Swift 3 – Fingerprint Scanner and Windows Hello

Just 0.7 inches (17.95 mm) in height and weighing 3.3 pounds (1.5 kg), the Swift 3’s svelte and lightweight design features a sturdy brushed-aluminum chassis. It offers up to 12 hours2 of battery life and a collection of indispensable features for great productivity, mobility and security.

The Swift 3 models pair a 14-inch HD or Full HD IPS anti-glare display with 6th or 7th Generation Intel Core processors, fast 512GB SSDs, up to 8GB memory and 2×2 MU-MIMO 802.11ac wireless technology for fast and reliable internet connectivity.

Additional must-have features include a USB 3.1 Type-C port (for fast data transfers, connection to an external display, and to charge the notebook), and an HD webcam with High Dynamic Range.Also comes with the optional backlit keyboard.

A built-in fingerprint scanner is located at the upper right-hand corner of the palm rest and works in conjunction with Windows Hello for enhanced security. It takes less than one second from scanning a fingertip to accessing the desktop. It can also recognize specific people, linking actions to approved individuals, deterring inappropriate behavior and helping to eliminate fraudulent activity.

Acer Swift 1 – Light and Budget-Friendly

Lightweight and priced right for a student or others on a budget, the Swift 1 is highly portable and includes the essentials, making them a great value. Just 0.7 inches in height (17.9 mm) and weighing 3.5 pounds (1.6 kg), the cover features a brushed-metal-like finish that minimizes fingerprints and scratches, while the diamond-cut edges around the power button and touchpad provide nice design touches.

With up to 12 hours2 of battery life, they will last a student an entire school day, with a few extra hours to spare for late night studying or web-surfing. The Swift 1 features a 14-inch HD display, an Intel Pentium or Celeron processor, 4GB of memory and either 32GB, 64GB or 128GB of eMMC storage.

PREDATOR SERIES

Along with Swift series, Acer also added new devices in their Predator Series. At IFA the company announced three new Predator gaming monitors. All the three monitors come with built-in Tobii eye-tracking technology.

The Predator Z271T

The Predator Z271T comes with 27” 1800R Curved Full HD screen, stutter-free visuals with NVIDIA G-SYNC, Rapid 144Hz Refresh Rate & 4ms response time. It will be available in EMEA in October with prices starting at €799.

The Predator XB251HQT

The Predator XB251HQT comes with 24.5” Full HD ZeroFrame Display, stutter-free visuals with NVIDIA G-SYNC, Rapid 240Hz Refresh Rate & 1ms response time.

The Predator XB271HUT

The Predator XB271HUT comes with 27” WQHD(2560 x 1440) ZeroFrame Display, stutter-Free visuals with NVIDIA G-SYNC, overclocking up to 165Hz Refresh Rate & 4ms response time. It will be available in EMEA in December with prices starting at €899.

SPIN SERIES

Along with Swift and Predator, Acer also launched Spin series which rotates up to 360 degrees. Just like Swift, this series also has 4 new laptops – Spin 1, Spin 3, Spin 5, and Spin 7. Looks like Acer is obsessed with odd numbers, which reflects in their naming portfolio. Moving on, lets have a look at the Spin Series by Acer.

Acer Spin 7

Thinner than a standard DVD case, the Spin 7 is a mere 0.43 inches thin (10.98 mm) and weighs just 2.6 pounds (1.2 kgs), providing extreme portability and flexibility. Its 13-inch all-aluminum uni-body houses a 14-inch Full HD IPS Corning Gorilla Glass touchscreen display with a narrow bezel. Sleek and contemporary, its matte black chassis is complemented with polished silver hinges and diamond-cut edges around the touchpad. It offers up to 8 hours of battery life.

As strong on the inside as it is on the outside, the Spin 7 offers uncompromised performance with a 7th Generation Intel Core™ i7 processor, up to 8GB of memory and a speedy 256GB SSD. Dual USB 3.1 Type-C ports are included for quick data transfers, connection to an external display, and to charge the notebook. A wide glass touchpad helps fingers glide smoothly across the surface with minimal friction.

The Acer Spin 7 will be available in North America in October with prices starting at $1,199; and in EMEA in October with prices starting at €1,299; and in China in September with prices starting at ¥8,999.

Acer Spin 5

The Spin 5 features Acer’s proprietary wobble-free 360 degree dual-torque hinge, which makes it easy to open but prevents it from toppling over when using the touchscreen. The crossed-hairline brush finish on the aluminum top cover provides a fabric-like appearance, making the Spin 5 easy to grip while also preventing the accumulation of messy fingerprints and smudges.

Spin 5 is powered by up to 7th Generation Intel Core processors for incredible performance, up to 16GB of fast DDR4 memory and up to 512GB of SSD storage for fast boot up and data transfer. The Spin 5 delivers up to 10 hours3 of battery life for all-day productivity, and the bright 13.3-inch Full HD IPS touchscreen display can be used with an optional Acer Active Pen with Windows Ink. Acer Spin 3

The Spin 3 features a 15.6-inch HD or Full HD IPS display and comes with a sporty brushed-hairline finish. Solid performance is delivered with 6th Generation Intel Core processors and up to 12GB of fast DDR4 memory. It also features dual storage support, and comes with both solid state drives (up to 256GB) and hard drives (up to 1TB)4, providing fast boot up times and ample storage for documents and media. A backlit ergonomic keyboard with a 1.6 mm keystroke provides for comfortable typing. It also includes an HD webcam with HDR imaging and delivers all-day productivity with up to 9.5 hours3 of battery life.

The Acer Spin 3 will be available in North America in October with prices starting at $499; and in EMEA in September with prices starting at €599.

Acer Spin 1

With ultra-affordable prices and up to 9 hours of battery life, the Spin 1 is ideal for students or for use as a second computer. The Spin 1 comes in models with 13-inch or 11.6-inch Full HD IPS displays, and include configurations with all new Intel Pentium or Celeron processors. Designed with the classroom in mind, the Spin 1 (SP111-31) supports an Acer Active Pen with Windows Ink, and features a display that’s covered with Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass5, made possible by embedded antimicrobial ionic silver that lasts the lifetime of the touch surface.

The Acer Spin 1 will be available in North America in December with prices starting at $249; and in EMEA in November with prices starting at €299; and in China in October with prices starting at ¥2,999.

REVO BASE MINI PC



It’s raining devices from Acer today. Acer now announced the Revo Base mini PC running Windows 10. It features up to Intel Core i7 processors, and up to 8GB of DDR3L system memory and supports up to two monitors. It measures 5.3 cm in height with a 14 x 14 cm footprint.

It provides storage with up to 2TB HDDs or optional 256GB SSDs, while an SD card slot lets the user add up to 256GB of external storage. It is well quipped with connectivity options like four USB 3.1 Gen. 1 ports. It also has 802.11ac wireless technology for fast wireless transfers.

The Acer Revo Base will be available in EMEA in Q1 2017 with prices starting at €429.
