(WPRI) – Aaron Hernandez’s court file just got thicker and added a jurisdiction with the filing of a civil lawsuit in Suffolk County that claims the former player fatally shot two men in a Boston drive by shooting in the summer of 2012.

According to Boston police Daniel DeAbreu and Safiro Furtado were shot to death from an SUV on July 16, 2012. A third man in the victims’ car was injured in the shooting. No one has been charged with the murders, but court documents indicate investigators suspect Hernandez was driving.

DeAbreu’s brother and Furtado’s father filed the wrongful death lawsuits, claiming Hernandez killed both men after he quote “shot a firearm from inside of his motor vehicle” into the victims’ car. The lawsuits state “the fatal attack was without provocation or justification.”

In a Connecticut search warrant filed in December in the Boston case, two North Providence men told investigators they saw a Hispanic man with short hair, drive a silver SUV with Rhode Island plates, next to the victims’ car, right before they heard a half dozen gunshots, and then saw the bodies.

And last year, a silver SUV with Rhode Island plates that records show was loaned to Hernandez by a Rhode Island car dealership, was found in the former player’s uncle’s garage in Bristol. Connecticut.

All told, Hernandez is now accused of shooting four men in three separate incidents in two states over a span of eleven months and one day.

Both of the civil suits filed this week are asking for $6 million in damages from Hernandez who remains jailed in the murder of Odin Lloyd. The former semi-pro football player was shot five times June 17, 2013 within a mile of Hernandez’s home according to investigators. Lloyd’s family is also suing Hernandez.

According to the Connecticut search warrant, Alexander Bradley was with Hernandez the night of the Boston double shooting. Seven months later, Bradley was shot in Florida, and claims Hernandez pulled the trigger. Bradley filed a civil suit against Hernandez in Florida federal court the week the former player was arrested.
