Not every one is all lovey-dovey about the new WordPress Admin interface. It sure is modern, responsive, sleek and stylish, but some of our users simply don’t like it all that much. If you’re one of those folks, then you’re in luck. The beauty of open source is that if people want to change something they can come up with a solution of their own. In this article, we will show you how to get old WordPress admin interface back in WordPress 3.8.
First of all we do not recommend our users to keep using an old version of WordPress just because they don’t like the new admin interface. We highly recommend that you update WordPress to the latest version if you haven’t already done so. After that we would want you to take a look and change admin color schemes and see if there is an admin color scheme that you would like to use.
If you are still certain that you want the old admin UI, then all you need to do is install and activate wp-admin classic plugin. It works out of the box upon activation. Your admin interface will change back to the old wp-admin UI design and layout.
That’s all, now you have the power and features of the latest WordPress with the admin interface that you felt comfortable with. Let us know what is it about the new admin interface that you don’t like? Please leave us a comment below or join us on Twitter.
