If you’re looking for a special way to make a difference in West Michigan join Catholic Charties of West Michigan in throwing a special baby shower to benefit God’s Kitchen.   The shower is hosted  by C4, the young professionals group of Catholic Charities West Michigan that focuses on connecting with community through community service events.

Now in its third year, the annual event offers young professionals an opportunity to network and socialize with other young professionals in the Grand Rapids area in support of children in need. This co-ed Baby and Toddler Shower will be held on Sunday, March 23 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Pearl Room at McFadden’s Restaurant & Saloon, 58 Ionia SW in Grand Rapids.   Attendees can hear entertainment provided by DJ MattB, enter for a chance to win an array of door prizes, enjoy complimentary appetizers and beverages and a cash bar and participate in other activities.

“Our goal is to offer a fun networking opportunity for other young professionals in Grand Rapids while benefiting the Baby & Toddler Pantry of Grand Rapids,” said Jacqueline Scherer, C4 president. “Last year, the shower brought in hundreds of clothing items, diapers and baby wipes, as well as larger items such as car seats, and generous financial contributions to the Pantry itself.

“These gifts provide for the safety and comfort of babies and children in West Michigan who are homeless, in foster care or whose families have a low income.”

Instead of purchasing a ticket, attendees are invited to bring a new, unwrapped item baby item for event entry. Attendees can see suggested items on the C4 Baby & Toddler Shower Buy Buy Baby gift registry. Visit http://www.buybuybaby.com/store/page/BabyRegistry and use CFour in the first name field and Infant and Toddler Shower in the last name field to access the registry.

Other suggested donations include:
• Pack ‘n play play yards
• Car seats
• Seasonal clothing for babies and toddlers
• Diapers, especially in sizes 4, 5 and 6, as well as “overnights”
• Wipes

Last year, God’s Kitchen Baby and Toddler Pantry served more than 1,500 children and families in need. The program is available to members of the community during walk-in hours on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in the lower level of God’s Kitchen at 303 S. Division Ave. in Grand Rapids.
