I love a good cheesy romantic movie. Hallmark movies are a favorite of mine- although many are predictable, I love the idea of a knight (or country cowboy) riding in to save the day.

Little girls dream of rescue. Little boys dream of being a hero. We all want to be a part of an adventure – of an amazing love story.

We long for it – because it is what we are created for.

The greatest love story every told began in the heart and mind of God almighty. It has all the elements that you look for in a great story. Unconditional love, dramatics, an evil villain, a hero on a white horse- the story is really breathtaking.

What is even better-  it is all true.

And even better still? The story can belong to you.

You see, so many people don’t truly understand what God has done for them. Sure, they know about baby Jesus. They know he was born in a manager. Most even know about the Jesus that died on the cross. Many know that he rose victorious from the grave on day three.

Yet, it just stays a story for them. It never becomes a reality that changes the way that they live their every day.

See, when we get beyond the story – and realize that the Bible is more than a book, it is a love letter – that Jesus is more than a good man, but the Lover of our soul – we begin to grasp this different.

It will change the way we do life.

It will make us missional – sharing the gospel every day.

It will change the way we are in our marriages: It will change the prayers we pray over our husbands, and even over our roles as wives.

It will change our motherhood.  It will change the way we disciple our kids. It will change the way we homeschool (if we do).

The gospel changes everything. It is what we do with this great love story:

If we share it or keep it to ourselves

If we live it out, or just keep it as words in a book

It matters what we do with it.
