Great Barrier Reef
Marked as one of the natural wonders of the world, the Great Barrier Reef has been listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. The Great Barrier Reef is the only live structure visible from the space. Spread over an area of 3000km it is home to several coral and fish species. The place is one of the most popular diving sites and has a large population of whales and sharks.

Shark Bay
Situated at a distance of 800km from Perth, Shark Bay catches attention with its irregular coastline. With several shallow peninsulas, the bay houses several threatened species, dolphins and other animals. The area has a large concentration of dugongs. Shark Bay is also a renowned heritage site.

The Pinnacles
One can reach to the Pinnacles by driving for three hours from Perth. The limestone formations here date back to 30,000 years ago. The Pinnacles are eruptions from sand in the Nambung National Park. On their visit to this place you should see animals like kangaroos, emus and reptiles.
Twelve Apostles
The Twelve Apostles are limestone stacks in the Southern Ocean off the Victoria Coast. The apostles are only nine in number and not 12 as the name suggests. As per last reports came the Apostle are only eight in number.

Katherine Gorge
Situated in the centre of Nitmiluk National Park, Katherine Gorge is made up of thirteen gorges. The gorge is situated along the Katherine River and home to freshwater crocodiles.
Kakadu National Park
Those who are looking to have a peek into Australian wildlife and rainforest should pay a visit to Kakadu National Park.
