…well if you could peer through my window (metaphorically), here’s what you’d find…
A day in the life of a travel blogger
My days vary dramatically – each day is something new and a completely different schedule. But as a broad overview, here’s a sample day from my current trip around Ireland with Skyscanner:
7:00am – wake up, shower, get dressed
8:00am – 9:00am breakfast + respond to emails
9:00am – 9:30am finish getting ready + pack gear (see what camera gear I use here)
9:30am – walk out the door with a plan of attack (& a map)
9:30am – 10:30am – drive to location
10:30am – 3:00pm – photo mission (drive, walk, bike ride, army crawl, whatever it takes to get the shots I want for the day)
3:00pm – update social media on my whereabouts + check emails
3:15pm – return to hotel
4:30pm – grab some lunch/dinner (I eat a big breakfast and have small snacks during the day, hence the early dinner time)
5:30pm – update social media, reply to emails
6:00pm – 9:00pm – edit photos, write blog, schedule blog
9:00pm – 11:00pm – work a leisure
11:00pm – shower + bed

A week in the life of a travel blogger
As with daily schedules, my weeks can vary drastically. For this example I’ve used the itinerary from my week in South Africa:
Day 1 – 06:20 – Arrive at Johannesburg airport, met by driver for transfer to hotel. Transfer to hotel, check-in, unpack, sleep (jetlag!), 19:30 – meet in lobby for dinner transfer, 20:00 – dinner with the Australian media.
Day 2 – 08:00 start – tour Johannesburg, Soweto day visit, afternoon hosted cocktails and nibbles, dinner, finish at 23:00.
Day 3 – 07:00 start – morning at neighbourgoods markets, flight to Cape Town, tour Cape Town, dinner, finish at 23:00.
Day 4 – 07:30 start – Cape Peninsula full day tour, finish at 22:00.
Day 5 – 08:00 start – Table Mountain, drive to Cape Winelands, lunch in vineyard, wine tasting in Stellenbosch, check-in to hotel in Franschhoek, dinner in Franschhoek.
Day 6 – drive to Cape Town airport, flight to Kruger, 2.5 hour land transfer to safari camp, check-in, 3 hour safari, 3 hour dinner.
Day 7 – safari program: 5:30am wake up call, 6:00am safari, breakfast, break (to sleep!), lunch, afternoon tea, night safari, 3 hour dinner.
( + this trip lasted 12 days!)

May 11 – Durban, South Africa (admitted to hospital from sickness and exhaustion!)
May 12 – Fly to Barcelona, Spain via Johannesburg and Frankfurt, Germany
May 13 – Arrive Barcelona, Spain
May 14 – Barcelona, Spain
May 15 – Barcelona, Spain
May 16 – Barcelona, Spain
May 17 – Barcelona, Spain + fly to Dublin, Ireland + night in Dublin
May 18 – Drive from Dublin to Sligo, Ireland (the Skyscanner 5 day road trip)
May 19 – Drive from Sligo to Lough Eske in Donegal Country
May 20 – Donegal, Ireland
May 21 – Drive from Donegal to Galway
May 22 – Galway + surrounds
May 23 – Drive to Dublin for weekend with Creative Holidays
May 24 – Dublin
May 25 – Dublin + fly to Edinburgh, Scotland to begin 7 day tour with Highland Explorers
