The Role:Bloomberg is looking for a Senior Software Developer for Bloomberg Vault. Bloomberg Vault is a startup in Bloomberg Enterprise group developing a cloud-based compliance archiving service, eDiscovery tools and real-time compliance monitoring infrastructure. Our software, which is hosted in Bloomberg's private cloud, has gained rapid market adoption with over 700 enterprises and processes more than 200 million daily messages and archives over 60 billion messages.We are changing the way compliance is integrated into enterprise workflows. Our fast moving R D team is looking for developers that are up for the challenge of building secure, scalable and high quality services using a combination of proprietary and open source components.- Content ingestion of e-mail, IM, mobile, voice, social media, files using SMTP,SFTP,SICAP, HTTPS and proprietary protocols- Long-term archiving in geo-distributed and compliant storage, e.g. WORM, replicated/redundant , cold storage, encryption- Massively scalable time-based and faceted search and real-time analytics using Lucene, Solr, Hadoop and proprietary machine learning technologies- Real-time and in-stream compliance monitoring, surveillance and analytics with flexible policy-based orchestration- Applications for compliance review workflows and eDiscovery processes developed using Ruby on Rails, JavaScript and open source web stackThe ideal candidate will join a quickly growing agile team in the development of the Bloomberg Vault product. Must be able to work independently to find a path to success by researching and recommending alternatives when faced with challenging situations. Candidates should have a passion for technology and a flexible, creative approach to problem solving. They should be able to take ownership of business requirements and devise and develop solutions that meet customer needs. Time to market is critical. Day to day tasks will involve the development and integration of new applications and enhancements.
