You love responsive design and know HTML, CSS, and Javascript like the back of your hand. You love the universality of mobile web development but you also know when it falls flat, when only a native iOS application will do. So you’ve built some of those as well and can write Objective-C in your sleep. Yet, you feel held back. You want to take your expertise in both platforms to help grow a mobile development practice, while continuing to develop your skills in both.So you start to daydream about what could be. What if I could build something that will be used to help real people solve real problems? What if I could work for a company built by people making a difference? And then you see this post. And you think: Who would do that? Who would have happy hours every Friday? Who would have an office dog and a ping-pong table? Who would write a job posting in second person?Here come the specs.You will:Build modern, responsive web applications native applications for PCs and mobile devicesUse your UI design and development expertise to help make decisions about architecture, design, and technology frameworksWork closely with our UX designers to maximize the user’s experience with mobile applicationsSpend at least 80% of your day coding in HTML, CSS, Javascript, Objective-CWork closely with our Java engineers by collaborating on requirements for our REST platform for educationWork with users and clients to discover their needs and desiresYou bring:Experience building iOS applications that are available in the App StoreExperience with structured JavaScript and jQueryExperience with component-based front end UI libraries, like jQuery UI, Twitter Bootstrap, Ext JS, or YUIExperience building AJAX web applicationsKnowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks (like AngularJS, Backbone.js, or Knockout)Understanding of MVC pattern, and other object oriented conceptsExperience with version control (we use Mercurial)Familiarity with agile development processesExceptional communication skillsExtra credit for:Some experience in developing Android applicationsSome experience using Angular.jsSome user experience design skillsProfessional experience with Java development or other server-side languageExperience optimizing Javascript applications for end user performance
