John McNeil Studio is looking for a developer candidate that can wear multiple hats – someone who has a strong background in Web QA, but also some experience and interest in doing front end web development.In QA mode, you will be responsible for the testing and quality assurance of high-profile websites and interactive advertising campaigns and will be checking for proper functionality, content and layout consistency. In front-end development, you will work on building interactive web experiences and perfectly styling them to match beautifully designed comps. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a creative eye, and love good design.Required skills:Experience with manual and automated testing on the web across a variety of platformsExperience writing and executing test plansKnowledge of testing frameworks and toolsMeticulous attention to detail (we're obsessed with our UI being just right)Experience implementing designs in standards compliant HTML CSSFamiliarity with JavaScriptPassion for good design and usability on the webNice to have:Experience testing on mobile devicesExperience testing/building responsive websitesExperience developing automated QA testing processes from scratchExperience using JS Frameworks/Libraries (jQuery, Bootstrap.js, Backbone.js, Underscore.js)Experience with Ruby on Rails, PHP, or Node.js (Most of our full-stack apps are Rails)Knowledge of Wordpress theme or plugin development
