Today I have to speak out on some bad behavior I saw going on a few weeks ago on a Direct Sales Company’s Facebook Page. From what I saw it appeared that 7 consultants were angry with the company that they used to represent (they all quit) for whatever reason and then sat on this particular company’s Facebook page posting hateful, spiteful and rude messages onto the company’s Facebook wall.
Personally, that is WRONG on so many levels! Where were their professional business ethics? moral values? C’mon now, it was a really disturbing sight to see!
I don’t care why they quit or whatever their problem was with that particular company but whatever was going on should of been dealt with privately with that company. None of the other consultants or customers of this particular company wanted to see all of that dirty laundry, true or untrue, no one wanted to see it.
What was the purpose of that? It didn’t make the company look bad or foolish but it certainly made all 7 of those ex-consultants look unprofessional and foolish!
As someone who has worked in the Direct Sales field for over 25 years I was absolutely “MORTIFIED” at their behavior and this company couldn’t delete the rude and sometimes vulgar messages fast enough so people were indeed seeing this unprofessional behavior on their Facebook wall.
If you ever have a bone to pick with your Direct Sales company…please, take it up privately with them. Don’t drag others into it, don’t post that kind of hateful stuff on their social media accounts so that others can see it. It is really an unprofessional thing to do.
If you do feel you need to speak out publicly then do so on your own web site or blog…but definitely do NOT post it on a company’s Facebook wall.
That’s all, just really disappointed that folks can’t act maturely or professional at times.
