TOBACCO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Police say a state trooper fatally shot a 50-year-old man who fired at officers who had surrounded a home in Michigan’s northern Lower Peninsula.
The Gladwin County sheriff’s department says deputies were sent to Tobacco Township on Thursday morning following reports of a man who was yelling and firing shots. They approached him and the department says he fired at a marked patrol car.
