Royal Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin will be rocking on Sunday night as the Texas Longhorns and No. 10 Notre Dame Fighting Irish will take center stage in what should be an exciting contest that has the current betting lines;

As both teams are anxious to get the season under way, one big question remains for both teams… who will get the starting nod under center?
For the visiting Irish, head coach Brian Kelly has decided he will play both his signal callers, while Texas coach Charlie Strong has decided, though, is keeping the name under wraps.
Coming off a 10-3 season, coach Kelly is expecting big things from his Irish once again as he will play both DeShone Kizer and Malik Zaire. Both quarterbacks will split the duties until one has shown he has earned the right to lead the Golden Domers on a weekly basis.
However, though the quarterback position appears to be good shape, the Irish have the fewest returning starters, so can those next in line step in and ‘step-up’ to get the job done?
For the Horns, while, many wonder who will get the nod, there is only one legitimate choice in coach Strong’s arsenal and that is true freshman Shane Buechele, who has appeared to win out over senior Tyrone Swoopes.
The starter the last two seasons, Swoopes has failed to take command of the team and lead making Texas fans mighty unhappy. The pressure will be on coach Strong to go with the freshman to appease the Longhorn faithful.
Not use to losing football, Texas is coming off a 5-7 campaign in 2015, including 38-3 spanking at the hands of the Irish back in South Bend.
Prediction/Pick
With 11 head-to-head meetings already under their belt, it’s been all Notre Dame with a 9-2 advantage, including winning the last five meetings and previous four in Austin. Heading into this matchup, 5Dimes is favoring ND (-3) points over TEX, while Bovada is giving the Longhorns (+4) points.
MyBookie is giving us the over/under of 60.0 total game points scored. Playing the spread in this one as my betting pick, I will favor the Iris MINUS the points (-3) over Texas for the big road win to get their season started.
