Poppy Watt couldn’t wait to get her hands on the new Eye Of Horus jewel amethyst goddess eye
pencil, one of two bringing some on-trend colour into their Spring-Summer
make-up collection.

Presented beautifully
in elegant black and gold packaging this certainly looked the part, but does it
pass the quality test too?  Oh yes! – The pencil is creamy and smooth to apply, with a good glide, which avoids pulling
the delicate skin around the eyes. It contains exceptionally rich deep pigments for an intense
amethyst colour, with a metallic glitter to add glamour. There’s a soft pad on
the reverse end of your pencil, which is a smudging tip applicator allowing you
to use as an eyeshadow or blend to soften the look of your liner.

The Eye of Horus
Goddess Eye Pencil is waterproof and smudge proof. I found it long lasting
once applied and conveniently simple to remove with my usual eye make up
remover. Perfect for everyday use, the pencil can take your make-up from day to
evening: from a fine line for a sleek daytime look to smoky eyes
for evenings out.

As well as the jewel amethyst, Eye of Horus has also added a
wonderful electric blue shade to their Goddess Eye Pencil range. The Lazuli
Blue being a bold, vibrant colour that will help you create the ultimate
blue smoky eye look.

TIP:  For a really
sharp point place your wax pencil in fridge for a few hours and sharpen. For an
alternative look, this gentle, non-irritating pencil looks fabulous applied on
the waterline too.

Eye Of Horus was
founded by a group of like-minded
ladies. After recognising a gap in the market Holly Spierings joined forces with makeup artist and best friend Amy Lennane, big sister and beauty
retail expert Nicole Spierings and
business entrepreneur Heather Spierings
to form the company. Their mission was to awaken the goddess in all of us and
make women, no matter what age, feel beautiful.

The hero product, Eye of Horus Goddess Mascara is known for
strengthening and lengthening lashes and is the brainchild of Holly Spierings. Sensitivity to eye
makeup and brittle lashes inspired Spierings’ initial research. She discovered
the answers lay with the ancient
Egyptians who used wax-based makeup for beauty and protection. The
Egyptians used the most precious waxes and oils in their iconic eye makeup.

Replicating this
age-old formula the low irritant mascara
is made of plant-based ingredients and waxes including carnauba, beeswax, rice bran candelilla and ancient Moringa oil, the
precious and rare oil found in Tutankhamen’s tomb – it has over 1700
antioxidants and is renowned as a very effective natural conditioner for hair
and skin.

The super gentle
formula covers lashes beautifully, stays on all day, is smudge-proof,
tear-proof and comes off in seconds. Removal
is easy with a cloth warmed with water (which is awesome) as the heat melts
the waxes; alternately use your usual eye makeup remover.

The girls use natural
waxes and oils in all their iconic eye products to provide products that are long lasting, non-irritating, nourishing
and great for sensitive eyes, avoiding the use of nasty chemicals. Their
products are not tested on animals, Paraben Free, and contain as much natural
content as possible, balancing organics with the highest effectiveness.

The Eye Of Horus range
is positioned in a mid-range price
bracket for affordability and include the Goddess Mascara, Goddess Eye
Pencil, Eye Shadow Palette, liquid define liner and sharpening square.

TIP: To create a perfect,
professional ‘wing’ with your Liquid Define Liner apply a piece of tape from
corner of both eyes up diagonally to temple to guide the tip of the Liquid
Define Liner for a perfect flick.
