One of the southern-most English counties, Cornwall’s allure lies not only in its stunning scenery and breathtaking landscape, but the wealth of activities on offer and adventures to be had.

Providing the dramatic backdrop for popular TV series Poldark, and a favourite destination of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, if you haven’t discovered everything Cornwall has to offer yet, then it’s about time you booked your next UK getaway!

Cornwall is a magical destination for adventure and discovery. From the cute cove town of Mousehole, to the stunning St.Ives. The enchanting waterfalls at St Nectan’s Knieve, near Tintagel, to medieval castles above the sea, Cornwall provides the backdrop for a staycation straight out of a fairytale.

Cornwall has the longest coastline of any English county, measuring about 433 miles. Take advantage of this by visiting one of the many stunning beaches. Spend a day (or a week!) surfing in Newquay. Or, treat yourself to a trip to Treyarnon bay, which boasts one of the most un-spoilt beaches in the whole of the county. Perranporth Beach, one of Cornwall’s best known, will not disappoint with golden sand stretching as far as the eye can see. The rugged and rocky coastline at Lands End is bound to take your breath away.

Fine local fare and deliciously brewed local ales and ciders make Cornwall a haven for foodies. Settle down in a traditional Cornish pub to get a taste of the local’s favourite tipple, or enjoy freshly caught fish from any of the coastal restaurants. Make sure you join one of the 13,500 people that eat a Cornish Pasty each day! Maybe also try the even more traditional Stargazy Pie.

There’s something for everyone! Cornwall is a child-friendly and dog-friendly holiday destination, with plenty to keep everyone happy for a plain sailing family holiday. Spend the day exploring the Lost Gardens of Heligan or take a leisurly stroll through the bluebells at Tehidy Woods.

Sitting 399 meters out to see off the coast of Cornwall, St. Michael’s Mount should be a must-see stop off on your visit to Cornwall. Cross the stone causeway when the tide rolls out, and discover the 17th century castle, sitting majestically above the waves.

If you’ve fallen in love with the dramatic scenery and stunning backdrop of BBC drama Poldark, then you can go behind-the-scenes of the popular show. Visit any number of the shooting locations and experience Poldark in real life! See the list of all the Poldark filming locations in Cornwall here.

Make sure you visit Truro, Cornwall’s only city. See the Cathedral, one of the sights the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited on their trip to Cornwall. Exciting times to visit are during the Truro Festival in April. In addition, the Great Cornish Food Festival in September is also great. More info here.

As well as Cornwall’s incredible countryside and stunning coastline, it is also home to the world’s biggest undercover rainforest! The Rainforest Biome at the Eden project houses over 1,000 varieties of plant. The perfect wet weather day activity, it can take over 1.5 hours to see everything under the cover of the futuristic domes. Take it from Wills and Kate!

There’s accommodation to suit every style, need, and budget. From cosy hideaways to beautiful beach huts, countryside escapes to incredible cliff-top stays! You can even stay in the same spot as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. If you have £379 a night to hand! Prince Charles’ estate owns the property, named Restormel Manor. With five double bedrooms sleeping up to 18 people, there is plenty of room for the whole family! Find out how to book below.
