James Moody Jazz Benefit @ Blue Note (New York, NY) - Head to the Blue Note tonight and support The CFNJ James Moody Jazz Scholarship Fund for Newark Youth. This is the 4th benefit concert and it promises to be a good one. Lady Day on On Broadway in Previews @ Circle in the Square Theatre  (New York, NY) - Five-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald stars as Billie Holiday in Lady Day on Broadway. Spend an evening at the theater watching the life of one of the most beloved singers in jazz, as interpreted by one of the most beloved stars of Broadway. Previews run throughout the week. 

Patricia Barber Quartet @ Green Mill Jazz Club (Chicago, IL) - Tonight, don't miss singer/pianist Patricia Barber at Green Mill Jazz Club. If you miss her tonight, try again next week as she has a Monday night standing engagement at the club. Tonight's show begins at 9PM.

Roy Hargrove @ Blue Note (New York, NY) - April is Jazz Appreciation Month and Blue Note kicks the month off right. Tuesday night, treat yourself to the phenomenal talent of 36 year-old, Grammy award winning trumpeter Roy Hargrove. Doors open at 9:45PM and show begins at 10:30PM.

Annie Ross @ The Metropolitan Room (New York, NY) - If you've missed her - don't fret. You can still catch founding member of jazz vocal ensemble Lambert, Hendricks and Ross, Annie Ross. This jazz legend will be performing Tuesday evening at The Metropolitan Room.

Preservation Hall Jazz Band @ Preservation Hall (New Orleans, LA) - Preservation Hall offers the best in Traditional New Orleans Jazz on Thursday night with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. The group was founded in 1961 and has since been travelling the world, spreading love for New Orleans Jazz. Tickets only available at the door. First come first serve. 

Guys & Dolls @ Carnegie Hall (New York, NY) - Thursday night, head uptown for a very special engagement. For one night and one night only, Carnegie Hall presents Guys and Dolls with a star-studded Broadway cast. Nathan Lane, Patrick Wilson, Sierra Boggess - the list goes on and on. Ellis Marsalis Quartet @ Snug Harbor (New Orleans, LA) - In New Orleans on Friday night? Head to Snug Harbor for the Ellis Marsalis Quartet. Two shows 8PM and 10PM. The quartet will be performing work off of their new album, Duke in Blue. Promises to be a great night.

On Tour: Champian Fulton @ Jamboree Jazz Club (Barcelona, Spain) - Pianist/Singer Champian Fulton's tour is heading to Spain this week. Catch the Champian Fulton Trio Friday and Saturday evening at the Jamboree Jazz Club. Dubbed a "charming young steward of the mainstream jazz tradition", by The New York Times, this show is worth the trip out.

Hugh Masekela @ The Rose Theater (New York, NY) - Saturday night, celebrate the birthday of the South African trumpeter/compoer Hugh Masekela. Jazz at Lincoln center presents a musical retrospective hosted by the musician himself. Enjoy a night of the music of the African diaspora. Free pre-concert discussion begins @ 7pm.

Brad Mehldau Trio @ SFJ Jazz Center (San Francisco, CA) - Saturday night in San Francisco just got a little bit better. Brad Mehldau (piano), Larry Grenadier (bass) and Jeff Ballard (drums) will bring great jazz to SFJ Jazz Center. Show begins at 7:30PM.

Lee Konitz Quartet @ Regatta Bar (Cambridge, MA) - If you find yourself in Cambridge, Massachucets on Saturday evening - then you're in luck. Head to Regatta Bar for the Lee Konitz Quartet. Lee Konitz (alto saxophone), Dan Tepfer (piano), Jeremy Stratton (bass), George Schuller (drums).
