Three people were critically injured Monday night in a house fire in Elmhurst, fire officials said.
The fire broke out around 10:30 p.m. on the second floor of a home on Ithaca Street, near Elmhurst Avenue.

Three people inside the home were taken to area hospitals with critical injuries. One person was taken to Elmhurst Hospital and the other two were taken to North Shore University Hospital.
The nature of their injuries wasn't immediately clear.

The fire had been put out by 11:30 p.m., according to the FDNY.
Fire officials are investigating the cause of the blaze.
