ELKTON, Md. (AP) — Authorities say a man on the run for a month after a shooting in Cecil County is now in custody.

The Cecil County Sheriff’s Office tells The News Journal of Wilmington, Del., that 20-year-old Marquel May was arrested Friday in Edgewater and is being held in Cecil County.

According to the sheriff’s office, last month May walked up to a man he previously argued with and shot him in the back at close range. The victim survived.

May has addresses in Maryland and Delaware. The hunt for May crossed the border into Delaware on Oct. 3, when Delaware State Police pursued him. Police say he hit two cars during the pursuit and was able to elude officers after running on foot through rush-hour traffic on Interstate 95.
